MPs John Leech and Lembit Opik enjoy the evening at Withington Golf Club

John Leech MP's annual dinner was celebrated in style when guests packed out a suite at Withington Golf Club.

Guest speaker, Lembit Opik MP, entertained the audience with his flamboyant wit and political anecdotes. He also hosted a more formal question and answer session, dominated by his thoughts on the forthcoming leadership election.

The night was also geared towards fundraising for the constituency. Alongside a hamper packed with luxury items and a bottle of whiskey signed by former Lib Dem leader, Menzies Campbell, two constituents generously donated a week's holiday at their holiday home in France for auction.

John Leech MP stated:

'I was delighted that people from all over the constituency and from further afield decided to join us tonight.

'Some many people donated their time to make the event a night to remember, and many more contributed money to our fundraising cause.'
