John Leech, MP for Manchester Withington, has visited a research project on site at the Christie Hospital - funded by Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity John has been actively supporting both in the community and in Parliament.

John Leech MP met with Dr. Robert Clarke, one of the Campaign's first scientific fellows, and Senior Scientific Officer, Kath Spence, at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research where they are studying breast cancer stem cells in the hope of finding the source of breast cancer.

The project at the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research is one of 11 projects Breast Cancer Campaign is currently supporting

'I am delighted to be able to see the progress that research projects supported by Breast Cancer Campaign are making in this vital field,' John Leech MP said.

'I was able to present the cheque for £400 that I had raised by completing the Great Manchester Run, so it's great to see first hand the work that has benefited from fundraising.'
