John Leech, MP fights to reinstate Saver tickets

Liberal Democrat MP for Manchester Withington, John Leech, is working with local councillors to help to reinstate day and week tickets on the 85/86 bus route between Chorlton and Manchester city centre.

John is working with local campaigners Bernie Ryan and Lianne Williams to resist the bus company's decision to eliminate day and week saver tickets that would effectively result in a 42% rise in ticket prices for people in the area.

John Leech, MP said:

"In a time when people should be encouraged to use local transport to reduce carbon emissions and congestion, Stagecoach's decision to raise ticket prices will discourage people to take buses."
