Coalition protects Manchester Schools Builds4.00.54pm BST (GMT +0100) Tue 6th Jul 2010 John Leech MP has spoke of his delight over the Education Secretary Michael Gove decision the building of Manchester's schools with the Building Schools for the Future Scheme (BSF). Building Schools for the Future is the biggest-ever school buildings investment programme. It aims to rebuild and reform secondary schools across Britain by that pupils are able to learn in 21st century facilities. John commented "This is great news for Manchester. Labour were scaremongering about the school builds not going ahead and we are delighted that they have been safeguarded in Manchester I am so pleased that we are able to continue with the building of our local schools; this will benefit many generations to come." Labour in Manchester had fully predicted there to be cuts; however the coalition government has been able to secure the funds to protect all of our local schools in the Manchester area. The leader of the Liberal Democrats in Manchester Cllr Simon Ashley added "I am thrilled that despite these tough economic times the school building project in Manchester is still able to go ahead".
